Privacy policy
This describes what we collect when you order a Kizuna adapter at kizuna.trading, why, and who we share it with.
What we collect
When you place an order, Stripe's checkout form collects your email, name, shipping address, and (optionally) a phone number, and processes your card payment. We receive this information from Stripe once the order is placed, along with the order amount, currency, quantity and any referral code you used. We do not see or store your card number.
If you join the waitlist before the store opens, we store the email address you give us.
Our server automatically logs standard web request information (such as IP address and browser user-agent) for security and abuse prevention, in line with normal web hosting practice.
Why we collect it
- To take payment and create your order
- To ship the adapter to you and contact you about shipping or order problems
- To respond to support requests
- To pay commissions to creators, where an order used their referral code
- To meet our own legal, tax and accounting obligations
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
Stripe, Inc. processes your payment and collects your checkout details directly; see Stripe's own privacy policy for how they handle it. Cloudflare hosts this website and the order database that stores your order. We share your shipping details with whichever carrier ships your order, as needed to deliver it, and your address may be visible to customs authorities for international shipments.
We do not otherwise share your personal data with third parties, except where required by law.
The Kizuna Setup mobile app
The sections above cover this website. The Kizuna Setup app (iOS and Android) collects separately:
- Account: if you sign in, we store your email address and name to identify your account and let you trade online with other Kizuna users.
- Bluetooth: the app uses Bluetooth to find, set up and update your adapter, and Wi-Fi credentials you enter are sent to the adapter over Bluetooth, not stored by us. On Android, the OS requires a location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices; the app does not use this to determine or store your location.
- Crash and diagnostic reports: by default, the app sends crash reports and app logs to Sentry (a crash-reporting service) to help us fix problems, including a short on-device replay of what was on screen when an error happened. Account details, Wi-Fi names/passwords, and Switch pairing keys are never included; log lines are redacted before sending. You can turn this off in Settings, which also stops it from starting on the next launch.
- Adapter and firmware info: the app reads your adapter's hardware type, mode and firmware version to show adapter status and offer updates; this is not sent anywhere beyond the crash-report context above.
The app does not use advertising, and we do not sell this data. Camera access is never requested or used.
Cookies
We set one cookie, kz_lang, to remember your language choice. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
Where your data is processed
We are based in Japan. Stripe and Cloudflare may process data on servers outside Japan, including in the United States and elsewhere, as part of providing payment processing and hosting.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil your order, handle any returns or warranty issues, and meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations. Waitlist emails are kept until the store opens or you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to what we need to keep for legal/accounting reasons, such as a completed order). If you are in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR; Japanese customers have rights under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報保護法). To exercise any of these, email support@kizuna.trading.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the shop changes. We'll update the date below when we do.
